FIRST VISIT: 1/5 STARS
Over the past 13 years I have eaten many different burritos from many different places across many different countries, NEVER HAVE I EVER BEEN SERVED A COLD BURRITO!!! WHAT THE HELL!!?? Maybe the staff forgot to turn on the power when they put the wrap in the toaster, or perhaps the salsa/guacamole in the refrigerated area actually lies behind a secret window leading into the Arctic Circle, but what I am absolutely sure of, is that if there was any good taste to be had from this burrito, it was masked by cold disappointment. Every single bite tasted like cold goo.
Question: Who wants to eat a COLD burrito when it's 0 degrees Celsius outside?
That's right - NOBODY.
Perhaps it's my fault for expecting quality food from a take away 30 minutes before closing time, or perhaps this place is an absolute SCANDAL for charging €13.50 for a tiny burrito. I ordered the "Signature burrito". I was absolutely starving when I arrived and I was still hungry after I ate it. I'm only 65kg - I should not feel hungry after eating a burrito. Unfortunately, the only thing that filled me was disappointment.
Positive note - the young fella who made my burrito was delightfully friendly.
The young wan at the till could do with better manners - "cash or card"? she barked at me as I went to pay. No "please", no "thanks". I was then handed the burrito by the guy with no bag, no tray, no napkin. Alright then, I guess I'll just go and grab myself some blue roll from the cleaning section and sit down at a table. I could forgive this slight if they were very busy, but no, I was the ONLY customer at the counter with 20 minutes until closing time, and it only took two staff to deliver the 2nd worst burrito experience I've ever had.
SECOND VISIT 4/5 STARS
I love burritos and I'd like to see burrito places in Meath doing well, so I returned at an earlier time and I ordered 2 big burritos for an eye watering 33 EURO. Yep, €16.50 for ONE SINGLE "large" barbacoa beef burrito. I might be left disappointed again, but I'm sure as hell not going to be left disappointed AND hungry.
Their "large" is the same size as a regular burrito that most burrito places will only charge you a TENNER for. You want to know what a "big" burrito looks like? Get yourself to Guapo in Co. Derry and order a 24 inch burrito for about €17.50. That's what "BIG" looks like, it is DOUBLE the size of this rip-off for around the same price.
Well lucky for their google rating I went back because the b
Hi D R,
Thanks for taking the time to leave such a detailed review and for giving us a second chance.
Firstly, I’m sorry about your first visit. A cold burrito is not the experience we want anyone to have. We’ve spoken with the team to make sure everything on the line – including the toaster – is being checked properly so that doesn’t happen again.
I’m really glad to hear that your second visit was a much better experience and that you enjoyed the burritos. It’s great to know the flavour and quality hit the mark the second time around.
We really appreciate you coming back to give us another go, and we hope the next time you drop in we can deliver both great food and great service from start to finish.
Thanks again for the honest feedback.
Regards,
Damien Duffy
